How to and How often to fluff your upholstery pillows

It's spring cleaning season and over the weekend as I was tidying up my home, I noticed how much fluffing your pillows can make such a huge difference. Here is a quick guide on how to and how often to fluff your upholstery pillows.

Material

Know your inserts! Down and feather blend pillows are extra soft in comparison to other materials and because of this, they require more fluffing.

Schedule

In our household, with the kids playing around all week, the weekend is a great way to fluff the pillows. Setting this schedule for myself helps maintain the quality and look of the pillows around my home.

How

A great way to start is finding the midpoint on each side of the pillow. With that, a good push inward from each side will center most of the fluff in the center. Once you have done all the sides, a punch to the center to disperse the filling is up next. Lastly, a good stretch on opposite edges with a shake will definitely finish up your pillows, making them all fluffed up.

It's as easy as that!

Before you start fluffing all your pillows, a few things to remember:

1. Occasionally flip and rotate your pillows. You wouldn't want one side to be overused.

2. Distribute your fluffing within your cushion.

3. Make sure to fluff all your pillows. Don't leave any pillow in your home unattended.

4. Make sure your pillow covers aren't too small for your inserts. You want your inserts to be able to breathe.
